Disk Cleanup

When I attempt to run disk cleanup it scans shortly and
then freezes. The utility box with the drop down menu
doesn't come up either. Thanks for any help.

Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
