XP Professional Freezes Up

When I click on start button, settings, then return to
desktop, mouse pointer moves but does not respond to
clicks. Using My Computer does the same thing. FAQ's and
knowledge base no help - same with Dell support. Would
appreciate any advice. Hope not to format and reinstall
everything.

Update your Mouse driver from the manufacturer.
