Updates

Win XP Home, about a 1 year old and have not ever installed
any updates. I would now like to. Question is if I install
the SP1a pack do I need to insatall any other security
updates or any other updates or does this one take care of
everything??

I'd suggest installing XP SP1 first.
Then go back and get the Internet Explorer SP1 if it's still listed.

Those are big updates, and seem to contain some of the smaller ones, so
getting them first should in theory shorten the list the next time you run
Windows Update.
