Dell E153FP Monitor Driver problem

Hello All,

I recently purchased a Dell Dimension 3000 that came with a Dell E153FP flat panel LCD monitor. It came installed with Windows XP Home. I installed windows xp pro after a reformat and now no matter what I try, I cannot get a clear resolution over 640x480. I have downloaded the Dell Drivers for this monitor but I am unable to update the drivers as it is recognized as a VgaSafe driver and won't let me update it. I can only get 640x480 with 16-bit colors or 1024x768 with 8-bit colors.

This is the first time I am facing such a problem. Could someone tell me how to fix it?

I just figured out that I am always booting in to Safe Mode. can someone tell me why this is happenning? I did not see the Windows registration screen (and the screens that lead to it) after XP Pro was installed :confused:

Just wanted to let you know that the video peoblem has been fixed. It was in the BIOS where the Video memory was set to 1MB. I changed it to 8MB and my video settings worked fine.
