Check your screensaver first. Sometimes, a bad
screensaver or even a screensaver that uses active desktop
can can kick in and cause a hang. Just turn it off and
see if problems remains. Try to determine what is running
at 15-20 minute intervals. Look in your task list at
running services. You can turn off all non-windows
programs in there to see if any of them are causing it.

Also, check your scheduled tasks and check the index
service to see if it runs when the computer is idle.
You'll find it by right click, my computer, manage.
Expand the services item and you'll see the Index
Service. Turn it off for a while to see. I'd use in
place upgrade as last resort.

Thanks for the advice. I found the index service by flowing your directions
but I could not see how to turn it off. I am not even sure it is running.
When I right click it "stop" on the menu is grayed out and "start" is black.
I assume this means it is stopped now.
I have turned off the screen saver an dwill see what happens.
Thanks again for the help.
