Spell Check Error in Outlook Express

I recently had to reload software after hard drive crash.
Now when I try to run Spell Check in Outlook Express I get
the following message.
"An error occurred while the spelling was being checked."

I'm using XP Home Addition version 2002 and I have
recently applied all updates.
I'm using Office 97 for spell check.
Spell check works in Word and Excel and it worked with
Outlook Express before the disk crash.

Hi, Joe.

After reloading, did you remember to click OE's Tools | Options... |
Spelling tab and be sure Spell Check is turned on? Sometimes it helps to
turn it OFF, and then turn it ON again later, perhaps after restarting OE.

Remove Word from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel and reinstall.
