Hey, I like to make sure my windows is working the way it should. Windows
xp let's a person do, what I think they call, a restore.
The says it checks for lost or changed files.
This is what I'm trying to do. And then it asks for my administrators
password. I've tried using the administrator password I log on with and
that doesn't work. Does anybody know what password they might want. Do I
have to get in touch with the people who manufactured my computer.

Put your Windows CD in the drive. Go to Start>Run and type in

sfc /scannow

and let the System File Checker do it's thing.

Reboot when doen, and you may have to re-install some Windows Updates.
