E-mail Attachment

I recieved an E-mail from Microsoft with an attachment
patch 779.exe, I can't find it on the support site and it
doesn't come up in a search?? Could this be a virus? It's
only 2 bytes??

Microsoft NEVER sends Email with attachments unsolicited.
It must be the virus on the forged Email that has been going around:
