I have just had a strange thing happen to my PC, the home page for ie was
set to http://www.progenic.com by some outside source of unknown origin, and
was not allowing me to change it back, managed to find an article on
microsoft to do a registry hack to overcome this.
I went on a clean up using various pieces of software to clean up my tracks
on the net, clean the registry out, look for spyware etc but ever since
doing this even though the personalized menu option is ticked it does not
appear to be learning what programs I have used.
I did read that it can take a few days and a few reboots before it learns
but i did this 2 days ago and have rebooted 5 or six times in and effort to
force its hand.
I have tried changing the option and running it like that for while and then
changing it back and also tried searching on variuos sites but I have not
found much info on what could be happening.
Are the 2 problems related I wonder ? or are they separate..
Has anybody got any ideas ?
