Unable to click 'File://' link in IE - WinXP SP2

Hello,

After installing SP2 on my XP, I am unable to click 'file://' link in
IE.

I have created a webpage and am hosting it on my computer. So, when I
go to address - http://localhost/xxxx, I see a link where the address
is 'file://'. I should be able to click it but nothing happens when I
click it. It won't even allow me to open it in a new window.

Help!
