Originally, I noticed that if I let the computer
hibernate, when I restarted it, it would tell me one of my
disks needed to be checked for errors. It would do so,
find no errors and start up fine. I tried to avoid
letting it hibernate and use shut down instead. Now, even
when I shut it down I get the same response when
restarting, except that I get stuck in a loop. If I let
it check the disk, it gets to 65% and reboots. This will
go on seemingly endlessly. If I cancel the disk check,
Windows starts and all my programs seem to run fine.
However, if I try to run the disk check program through
Windows, it also will get about two thirds done and the
computer reboots. I have the latest Norton virus
protection and system scans show no viruses. I have not
installed any new software or hardware. I'd appreciate
any help anyone can offer.
