Please I need help.
I am trying to transfer my Outlook Express Messages to a
new computer (XP).
On the original computer (Win98), I went to file-folder-
compact all folders. I then found that all my information
is no longer in Outlook Express.
I understand that the files still do exist in
c:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{B4F...}.
The difficulty I am facing now, is to restore the
messages back to Outlook Express.
Please do help me, as I have already asked a lot of
people for help, but to no avail. It seems that people
here in Malaysia can't seem to solve this problem.
Thank you very much, and may God bless you.

Best regards,

Terence Ham

Hi,

Before you worry about moving them, you need to find them. Search the system
for *.dbx and see if they still exist. If they do, but you cannot open them
with Outlook Express, use this utility to try and recover them:

Dbxextract from MVP Steve Cochran
http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx

If you cannot find the files, try this recovery utility:
http://hccweb1.bai.ne.jp/~hcj58401/

Though if the files have been overwritten, they may be permanently lost.
After you recover them, read this on backing up and restoring OE mail:
