"SEARCH" does not work

[Ripper]

When I click on "start" and then "search" to look for a
file/folder on my computer, the screen freezes for about
5secs and then takes me back as if I never clicked on
search. I've tried it many times - I just don't have the
search feature working.

Any ideas?
