system restore

How do I restore my System Restore?
When I try System Restore I get this message:
rstrui.exe entry point not found.
The procedure entry point
Remoteassistancepreparesystemrestore could not be located
in the Dynamic Link Library WINSTA.dll
I tried re-installing Windows XP and it still does not
work.
