Win XP Popups

I am sick of thoes dam popups that are isntalled with
windows xp. the firewal wont even stop them.
Under local area connection properties, i went to
advanced settings and see things such as "msmsgs 10252
UDP"
is this one of the popups? because i am going to rid of
these if they are.
