I have been having alot of problems with my system since
MSN8 have been updating. Several days ago MSN8 made
updates to its systems - then when booting up my xp would
take a long time to boot and then just reboot without
warning. When successful boot would happen system would
run fine until the automatic update occurred. Windows
automated update stated that xp needed to be updated,
when started the automated update never runs - it just
sits there!

The automated update #:818529. I have windows xp without
sp1. I think that's another problem I have to deal with.

Hope this helps someone! Don't run the automated update -
go thru the windows update instead. I'm turning automated
update off for a while.

Hi ,

Thank you for posting!

According to your post, I understand that the Automatic updates does not
work after you install some updates to MSN 8.

I am wondering what MSN8 update you installed. Please help me clarify it.
Since the problem just occurred, you may run System Restore to restore the
system to a previous known good state to test it again.

Since you have disabled Automatic Update now, please follow the steps to
test the automatic Update again:
1. Disable any anti-virus programs and firewall programs.
2. Run "regsvr32 softpub.dll" (without quotation marks) to re-register the
softpub.dll file.
3. Enable Automatic Update and test it again.

Hope this helps!

Have a great day!

Sincerely,
