You would be better off slipstreaming your XP SP1 CD with the SP2 download
and then burning a new CD.

You need Autostreamer http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4444.html and Nero
or similar to slipstream either the SP2 CD or the SP2 full download from
Microsoft's website with the XP SP1 CD. I did it for my setup and it was
really easy.

Yes,
read step #2 it talks about changing the sourcepath, instead of looking at
your CD it will look in your i386 folder.

It also says there that you'll have to copy the i386 folder to your C:\
drive.

How to slipstream SP2 into XP
1...download SP2 from here
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/winxpsp2.mspx#EABCAA
2..go here for detailed instructions
http://www.nu2.nu/bootcd/
look for Bootable Windows XP installation CD-Rom (with SP1)and sub SP2
for SP1

works great and easy

It's so much easier to suggest solutions when you don't know too much about
the problem

I tried the slipstream a while back and got a message that you can't
slipstream an already updated SP1 CD.

Will Autostreamer do this?

Use nLite to slipstream SP2 on to your existing cd.

http://www.nliteos.com/

If you don't already have the full SP2 file.... you can get it here:

I tried the slipstream a while back (using commandline Update.exe -S)
and got a message that you can't slipstream an already updated SP1 CD.

Will nLite do this?
