File Folders

I had a folder on a different drive than my main one. I
had to format and reinstall windows xp to get rid of a
virus problem. But when I changed my computer name and my
login name (with administrative properties) the computer
says that the old folder i had was write-protected and
that access is denied. what can I do to gain access again?
