on re-start after the AOL download, XP won't launch, the
message is tha windows couldn't start because the
windows\system32\config\system file is either corrupt or
missing. AOL is of no help\clueless this matter.

I'm afraid you'll need to contact AOL's tech support for resolution
of problems with (or caused by) their product; Microsoft has no
control over AOL's product quality (or lack thereof).

Look for another ISP not dealing with a brain dead, computer hogging, piece
of crap like AOL.
