XP Pro backup wont allow backup type choice

I'm trying to backup using the wizard & when I get to
the window that allows Select The Backup Type [i.e:
selecting the backup medium] it does not allow me to do
this & I can go no further.

XP's rudimentary CD Recording program does not permit backing up data
directly to a CD. You must create a new folder on your hard drive, =
perform
a backup to that folder, then record the contents of that folder to a =
CD.
