cant find drives

when clicking on explore icon it will start searching and
all you see for several minutes is the flashlight
searching icon. the same thing happens when clicking on
my computer icon. the system can't find the a,c, or d
drives. after several minutes it finds the drives. when
closing the program you are working on you have to start
the same process over again and go through the long wait
for the search. what is the problem. ??? help please.
I don't get any help from the large rich company of
microsoft.... they just want Money to even talk to you.
I have taken the computer back to the shop where i
purchased it several times and they cant find the problem.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks
