System Restore not working

I had some nasty "parasites" (Cydoor and Favoriteman) in
my system from iMesh and Kazaa download. I think I got
rid of them, but they messed up my Adobe photo editing
program, AND sys. restore. In SR I can only get today's
date in bold, and it will not let me go back to another
month. What can I do? Reinstall Win.XP?

Cindy;
If the dates are not there, they are gone for good.
There are many things that effect System Restore.
Available space on hard drive.
Space you allocated to system Restore (default 12%)
Computer usage
And more.
