Disc Clean-up

I see this question has been asked serveral times, so
I'll ask it also. Every time I do a Disc Clean-up the
program hangs, and the only way out is to cancel. After I
cancel it seems that any other programs take a long time
to run. I end up rebooting, and that helps speed things
up. I've become reluctent to try Disc clean-up because of
this. Any help appreicated.

Line 48, Right column "Disk Cleanup - Compress..."
Save on Desktop.
Double click the icon once downloaded.
The icon can then be discarded.
