IE History files

The Internet explorer history window has started
recording, not just my surfing of the web, it is now
recording almost everything i do on my computer--e.g. if
I open a Word document file, later I will see that this
event is recorded in the IE history window. Further,
clearing the history does not clear these actions, it
only clears the browsing history. I don't really want all
of this.How can I fix this?

Hi,
Right-click on the Start button and select Proeprties
Select 'Start Menu' tab and click Customize... button
Select Advanced tab and click 'Clear List' button to clear all recently
opened items list

Option 2: Click Start/Run and type C:\Documents and Settings\<your user
name>\Recent and click OK. The resulting window will show shortcuts to all
the files you opened recently. Just delete those shortcuts.
