I just read a post that seems to imply that Office 2003 uses Windows
Messenger. I just loaded MSN Messenger figuring that I had a new Media
Center PC so I would load the newest version of MSN Messenger.

Does Office integrate with MSN Messenger? If no, how do I uninstall MSN
Messenger so everything on Media Center PC works properly again?

Hi,

It can use both actually, but it's really only used for the people smarttag; which really
isn't that useful.

What kind of "integration" are you looking for?

Can I uncheck the smart tag box in Office 2003 if I am using Windows
Messenger? I do not know what the smart tags do, but if I do not need this
checked for anything on my Media Center 2005 PC, I would like to get rid of
it.

What is the actual purpose of the Smart Tag checkbox in Outlook 2003?

Hi,

You sure can. Of course within Office Smart Tag's are actually quite useful (I'd suggest you
look in the Office 2003 help for a detailed explanation of what they can do).
