Is there an on screen indication for dial up telling me
if I'm on or dumped off line?


When power on, is there a way to come up with sounds (mute
off)?

Two monitors next to the time is the indication you are on line. This is set
by right clicking on your connection, select properties and set 'show icon
in notification area. Once sound is on and you exit (shut down) sounds
should be on
when you boot up. Is this not happening?
