When attempting to do a system restore, I got this error
message: The Procedure Entry Point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located
in the Dynamic Library.
I need some technical help but am unable to access Windows
Technical Assistance. I keep getting a run around. Can
you help?

Put your XP CD (if you have one) in the CD-drive. If not, your XP files =
are probably on the hard drive, so don't worry about it. Go to =
Start/Run and type in "SFC /scannow" without the quotes and hit enter. =
This will check your system files to make sure they are okay.

Patty,
How does this work? I am having the same problem as the
other poster.
I tried putting my XP CD in the CD drive and then running
System restore but that didn't work. Then I ran the
System File Checker and everything checked out ok.
I am still gettting the error message when trying to run
System Restore. My problem started after I did a Repair
of XP-Home.
Thanks.

Cathy, as near as I can tell, no one has the answer to this one yet. :( =
It has popped up a few times over the last few months, but I don't see =
any definite solutions anywhere. Not even any real identification of =
the cause. Sorry.

Hi Patty.
Thanks for your reply. I re-installed Service Pack 1 last
night after I posted my original message and lo and behold
it solved the problem!
Perhaps even those who haven't done an XP-Repair can still
try re-installing SP-1 to see if it will fix this System
Restore issue.
I don't spend much time on these boards, so I'm posting it
here so that perhaps you guys can suggest this to others
when they're having the same problem/receiving the same
error message.
Hope this helps.
