microsoft virtual machine

i have tried to log onto a site and received a message
that i need to download and install java virtual machine.
then when i click to down load it i get another message
that says my system requires a more recent version
of "microsoft virtual machine" and am referred to the
windows update pg. That is where i hit a dead end!
nothing on that page leads me to anything about mvm.

i have been totaly frustrated in getting any info from
microsoft and hope this posting will lead me in the right
direction. Thanks to anyone that can help.

Download & install MS Virtual Machine Build 3809.
Then visit the Windows Update website to obtain the
security update (Build 3810).
