Could someone please tell me where the Scan Disc command
is in windows XP.
I have looked in system tools but it is not there.
I myself have windows 98SE which is far easier to navigate.
I am asking this question for a friend who is new to
computing.
Thank's

Like Windows NT and 2000, XP does not use the old ScanDisc. It uses chkdsk
You can invoke it from the command line, or by opening My Computer and right
clicking on the drive(s) that you want to scan. Open My Computer>right click
drive icon>Tools>
Check Now. Thorough testing is recommended for the first scan, and you will
have to reboot and let itscan the disk at boot up. It may take a long time
for this scan; just let it run unitl completion. You should scan your
drives at least once a month, and then do a defrag of the drive. You may
need to do it more often if you download a lot of music or video files.
