In the winxp 'documents and settings folder I have Four
folders....a 'All users', a 'All users.windows', and
a 'mora' and 'mora,hal9000'. the later two being Our
personalized folder/administrator along with our
computer's nmae (hal9000). why are there Four folders?
they ALL have the same info in them each. and if I make
a change in the 'favorites' folder of one of them, I
figure it should make the change in them all, but nothing
happens, I have to change it in all four.....:(

H iAndrew,

Did you reinstall WindowsXP over itself (rather than a non-destructive
repair installation)? That would account for the odd profiles.

Part of the design of true user profiles is to have separate settings and
data files, this is why a link copied to one favorites folder does not copy
to all of them. To have a link show for all users, place it in the
Doc&Settings\AllUsers\favorites folder.
