What version did you upgraded from? if you upgraded from
Win 9x, it could be a problem, because the Win 9x has a
bug that the 9x version will not shut down properly.
I suggest you to save all your important doc, completely
uninstall your previous windows, and put XP into the CD
rom, try reinstall it again!
