flashing title bars

[Virginia]

Sometimes when bring up a document in Word from a folder,
then want to save it to a different folder, I get a
flashing title bar and flashing button at the bottom of
the screen. I don't know what makes this happen or how to
stop it. Can someone tell me what it is?

It's trying to get your attention. Often because a message box has popped
up, but other reasons as well.
