I recently got the error message UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
***STOP: 0x000000ED
(0x81B97E30,0xC000009C,0x00000000,0x00000000). This
happened after getting to the Windows XP Home Edition
screen with the little green bar and then it would just
sit there. The first time I started it didnt give me the
error it just stayed on that screen. Then I tried to start
in safe mode and all the options there (last known good
configuration, ect.) In safe mode it would just start
running the file names and would afreeze somewhere in
between. These didn't give me the error either. I finaly
got the error after trying everything a few times. On
Microsofts support site it says that it might be a problem
with UDMA hard disk controller which I don't think it is,
because I'm prety sure I'm not using that, or it says it
might be because of a damaged file system in which case I
should restart with the recovery console. I have my
windows CD but I don't know what I do now. It might help
to know that this has happened before, without getting the
error, just freezing at that Windows screen, and I could
start in safe mode then restart regularly and it would
work. I hope you can help me, sorry for the un-organized
description, it's too early for computer problems.
