Stop Shouting!
(In this NG, all caps is shouting)
Try Kelly's fix first:

Save settings on exit - Line 54, right side
Get the icon to show by unchecking the 'show icon on
desktop' then apply, then check the box, again apply.
Then run Kelly's script.
If this doesn't do the trick, uncheck the 'show on
desktop' icon, wait about a week (4-5 coldstarts) then
turn it back to show the icon. This sounds silly, but it
is what worked for me. Haven't had the problem since!
