Automatic Update

Does the little earth icon show up in the task bar when
the computer is automatically downloading updates when I'm
online? I have a dial-up connection to aol and I can't
tell if my updates are downloading. I haven't been
prompted to install the updates yet. Please help.

Yes. If you hover the mouse over the icon it should show you what
percentage is downloaded.
