Hi,
Can anyone recommend a decent but cheap IEEE PCMCIA card which definitely
has the TI chipset?
I have tried everything to get my SafeCom IEEE card to work on XP with my
JVC camcorder, but no luck. I understand that JVC are sh!t for DV capture
and must have the TI chipset for me to have any chance at all of getting it
to work.
Is this right or will it still not even be recognised as being attached by
Win XP?
Thanks,
Ian

I went to WalMart and bought a Stratitec brand firewire card for $24.00 with the Texas Instrument chipset (clear plastic packaging, easy to varify the chip). Went home, removed the card with the VIA chipset , installed the new card, ran setup and BAM! I had capture

Thanks Treeman,
For a moment I thought you might have solved my problem, but these are all
Firewire Direct own brand and they are based in the US, I'm in the UK :-(
Thanks for trying I've not had any other replies.
Still looking,
Ian

Cheers that is very encouraging, especially as I've spent weeks try to get
the damn capture to work. Now to try to source the card in the UK.
