I'm running a program that consists of both 16-bit and 32-
bit portions. When restoring a large data file on a 700 mH
Celeron with Windows ME, it takes 90 minutes. When I do
the same think on my new Dell Centrino notebook (D600M) on
XP, it takes 14 hours. Similar results happen on a Win
2000 machine. When Windows ME was loaded on the same 2000
machine, it turned into a "race horse".
When I look at the processes tab of Task Manager, I see
that the CPU is only 2 or 3% used while system idle is
97%. Seems to me there is a setting that needs to be
tweaked.
Any thoughts?
