When opening a new template in word, the document does
not automtaically show the header/footer. I have checked
the page set-up and tried to alter the defualt setting
but the only way I can get the new document to show the
header/footer is to select "view" "header/footer". Once
I've actualy viewed them it shows on the document.

How can I get every new document to automatically show
the header and footer?

You could try posting in the correct place for one thing. This group is for
people having problems with the Windows XP operating system, of which Word
has never been part. May I suggest an Office or Word group?

Look at the name of this group. It says basics, not problems with basics.
Their is no "problems with basic" NG. So maybe you should tell him this
group is peer to peer assistance with the basics of winxp, and that if he
does not receive help here he should try the word NG.

Exactly, yet go here:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=3Den&lr=3D&ie=3DUTF-8&selm=3Dbeoksc%24=
ii2%241%40newsg2.svr.pol.co.uk

And see where she offers help with PDF files and Word in the XP general =
group, and note how she DOESN'T tell the OP which group to properly post =
to! She is just a ****ing **** that cannot offer help, unless she =
actually knows what to offer. She did with the PDF, since she has =
pirated professional software on her PC.
