not for sure what to do about this everything is up to date. my software is
free or oem.

Sounds like it's overheating to me. Shutdown without warning and no error
is a very good indication of this.

My hard drive is getting pretty full if that might have anything to do with
it. What can be done of this overheating. More ventilation, is there a way
to check temp.? Thank you for your response Cari.
The shut down also happened with Movie Maker as well. Could it be my DVD-RW
as well. Just wondering.
I would like to know more on the overheating issue thanks.

First thing to check is that none of the fans have failed. The most common
fan to fail in my experience is the CPU fan.... if this has failed it MUST
be replaced as soon as possible. Failure to replace it will overheat and
kill the CPU. And replacing a fan is cheap compared to replacing a CPU!
Second thing to check is that you get rid of all those dust bunnies which
accumulate inside your PC. Get a can of compressed (and preferably a face
mask) and turn the PC off. Get as much dust and dirt out as possible.
Hard drives can overheat as well... the larger the hard drive, the hotter it
seems to get.
Yes, there's a good way to check temps... www.lavalys.com. Download and
install Everest (FREE) and run it. Under the Motherboard settings is an
icon called Sensor. That should bring up the screen giving the temps.
Different CPUs run at different temps, so in order to tell you whether yours
is running hot or normal, you need to know what CPU you have in your PC.
It can also be a sign of failing PSU (power supply unit) but check the fans
and dust first!
