View Full Version : Slow Shutdown

I've had Windows XP for over a year and it's the best
operating system yet. In February I upgraded to a Duron
1.3gig processor and I am running 450 megs of Ram which (I
think) is plenty for XP to work with. My problem is, about
a month ago I started experiencing slow logoffs and
shutdowns. When I click start and one of the 2 (logoff or
shutdown) it takes approx. 1 - 2 minutes and sometimes
more to execute the command. Can you help?

Thanks........./Norm

Hi Norm,

On the other hand if you did not have this problem until one month ago and
the Duron chip was installed in Feb. it may not be the chip.

Try this:

Here is a excelent article to help diagnose shutdown problems.

http://aumha.org/a/shtdwnxp.htm

Also you can use " Force " to close the program which is not closing
properly.

Karens Show Stopper.
