files and settings transfer wizard problems

I cannot get my computers to transfer files and settings
using the Wizard on WindowsXP. It hangs up on both
computers at the point where the computer is looking for
the port that the cable is attached to. If anyone can
advise I'd appreciate it greatly! Thanks! Charline

You could transfer the settings and/or files to a local fixed idsk
subdirectory.
Then after the file transfer wizard is finished, ftp or share-copy that
subdirectory to the
other computer and run the file transfer wizard on that pc also from it's
fixed disk.
