USB and Windows XP

I have Windows XP Home and it was working fine with my
Epson Perfection 1660 Scanner. I just recently installed
a 6in1 Inertnal Card Reader/Writer. It oplugs directly
into on of the FRONT USB ports on my motherboard. It will
work fine if I don't have the scanner plugged in and the
scanner will work fine if I don't have the Card Reader
plugged in. I've done all Windows updates, BIOS updates
etc Can anyone help?

Luke, how much memory do you have installed?
How big is your drive, and how much free space do you have?
