My computer comes on by itself! It took a while to
discover what the "trigger" was, but now, I realize it's
the telephone. When the phone rings, the computer powers
itself up and windows opens. 90% of the time after an
incoming call comes in, I have to shut down the computer
all over again. Another reason to dislike telemarketing
calls. Can anyone help? Ever heard of this before?
Thank you

You have to go into the BIOS setup and turn off Wake on Ring option.
It is usually with the power management features.
