I have a pagefile.sys that is now 1.2GB which is
completely defraged. I attempt to defragment my drive
and the report cannot defrag it. Any suggestions on this
pagefile.sys defrag issue and how to get rid of it.
Thanks in advance,
Flare

Pagefile fragmentation is an issue that is at least 99 and 44/100%
hype and (at best) 56/100% substance.
The best solution to any and all performance issues regarding the
pagefile is to have sufficient RAM so as to eliminate or at least
substantially reduce, then need for Windows to move active memory
pages from RAM to the pagfile so that RAM can be used for other,
currently more important functions.
You can download a utility to see how much of the pagefile consists of
active memory pages that have been moved out from RAM from
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_pagefilemon.htm or from
http://billsway.com/notes_public/WinXP_Tweaks/
If that shows actual page file usage as 50 mb or more on a regular
basis then more RAM is almost certainly going to benefit the overall
performance.
Good luck
