Spell check settings

I just upgraded to Word XP yesterday. While setting some
personal preferences, I set something in the spell check
commands that is preventing me from spell checking.

When I try to spell check I get a message that first says
everything is checked, then a second window that
says "Text marked with "Do not check spelling or grammer"
was skipped.

I have typed in purposfully misspelled words in several
different documents, did not knowing "mark" anything and
got the same result, reset what I can think of to no
avail. Help!

Go into Tools and select Options
Select Spelling and Grammar
Make sure Check spelling as you type is selected and
Hide Spelling Errors in this documents is not selected

Then select Check Document and will reset the Spell Checker etc for the
whole document etc even if you chose to ignore spelling errors previously.
