Im running out of space on my 20 gb hard drive.I used
Treesize, a utility which summarizes all used space on a
given drive ( being c: ) and discovered that 2.5 gb were
being used by a folder called System Volume Information.
Is there any problem with simply deleting this folder?
are there specific procedures for cleaning it up? The
computer in question is a HP Laptop running Winxp pro.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanx

Joseph;
System Volume Information is the System Restore data.
You do NOT want to delete the data directly.
You can delete all Restore Points by turning Off/On System Restore or
delete all but the last Restore Point by selecting Other Options in
Disk Cleanup.
The space will again fill up with these 2 options unless you leave
System Restore off (not recommended).

You can also adjust the space you use for System Restore.
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Adjust slider to left to reduce.
