STANDBY MODE GONE

My COMPAQ Presario 5240 always used the Standby
Mode "prior" to upgrading to Windows XP Home Edition.
Now the Standby button is faded out and I can't figure
out how to get my PC to support Standby Mode. Can anyone
help??? Is it the BIOS or something complicated???

You need to download and install the latest, correct, video card adapter
driver designed to work with Windows XP, then Standby will be available.
