Hi,

Can someone explain me why is there a folder with that
name in each of my drives partition? All my drives are
FAT32 and I'm using WinXP. Can someone explain me how it
works or how Windows use them? Is there a way to remove
them or it is essential to have a folder on each
partition? On some partition this folder can go up to
860Mb and on others 2Mb, is there a reason? Thanks for
your help.

Hi,

This is the System Restore folder for each partition. Even if deactivated
for that particular drive, the folder will still exist.

It stores the System Restore files needed to restore the computer to a
previous state. If you need to empty the folder you can just disable System
Restore and the contents will be gone. The size depends on what activity
has taken place - and can be set by R-click My Computer>Props>System
Restore.. select the drive and open Settings. You can even see what's in
System Volume Information if you give yourself permissions to view it.
