Help Lost my windows updated list

I went to check for Windows updates this morning, and when
I clicked into scan for updates, it showed there was only
four I have not downloaded, yesterday there were 5. I did
not download any so I went into view instalation history
and it was completly gone, no record of any downloaded
updates history since I have owned this machine. My
question since there aren't any shown, does this mean they
are not on my machine?
What to do, please advise.
