System Recovery

During the system recovery, my husband turned off the
computer. Now the screen is black and says NTDLR can not
be found. So I got online and download the XP home edition
set up boot disk. now i get download (windows Root)
\system32.hal.dll.
I can't find this anywhere, when we bought the computer,
it didn't come with any software, it is a windows xp home
edition. Can anyone out there please help me??

Contact the manufacturer of your computer and ask how to perform
a recovery operation. There may be a hidden partition that contains
the tools necessary to perform a system recovery.
